For Curtis Cook, the strongest customer relationships start with something simple: being genuine, listening well, and earning trust.

For Curtis, joining Smarter Furnishings feels a lot like coming home. He began his professional career at Smarter, spending 10 years with the company before moving to Boston in 2021 to pursue full-time ministry. Now returning as Business Development Manager, Curtis is excited to reconnect with a company and team he knows well while building new relationships and creating opportunities for Smarter to serve more customers.

His years in ministry reinforced a lesson that translates naturally to his new role: authenticity matters. Curtis believes people can tell when you genuinely care, and he approaches each relationship with a desire to listen, understand what matters, and build the kind of trust that lasts well beyond a single project.

Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Curtis earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix, but says home is wherever his wife, Emily, is. His favorite days are spent doing something that puts a smile on the faces of his wife and kids. He’s also a fitness enthusiast who joined the 1,100-pound club at age 38 and a cryptocurrency fan who will happily share what he’s learning with Emily—at least until her eyes start to glaze over.
